A local nurse faces charges after an investigation by the Owen Sound Police Service.
Inspector Stephen MacKinnon stated, “Earlier this month we received information of a possible sexual assault by a male nurse on a patient at the Grey Bruce Health Services – Owen Sound site. The investigation by our Criminal Investigation Branch is complete and a male has been charged.”
A publication ban under subsection 486.4(1) of the Criminal Code prohibits the release of any information that could identify the victim. Police are not releasing any further information on the investigation or what charge or charges the male now faces; nor will they comment on the male’s job or location within the hospital.
The Owen Sound male has been released by the Court on bail with very specific conditions, and is to return to court later in August.
